Yellowstone is one of those shows that, if given the opportunity, will have you hooked for life. Indeed, after watching the first few episodes, you’re guaranteed to be as loyal to the show as John Dutton is to the Yellowstone ranch.
And as obsessed with the show its viewers are, so too is their loyalty attached to its key cast members. From the unflappable Beth Dutton to the fiercely committed Rip Wheeler.
The television series follows the trials and tribulations of the Dutton family, with John Dutton at its head. A sixth generation ranch owner in Montana, John’s legacy lies in the property that he and his three children, Jamie, Beth and Kayce fight to maintain ownership of as a nearby township expands and the homestead’s resources are sought. There’s also an eye-opening narrative revolving around the Indian reservation which is located near the ranch. Throughout the series, we see the Dutton family’s unique relationship with the Reservation’s elders as they click, clash then click again—with the very essence of land-ownership explored. The themes in the show are based on the real life history of the Montana region.
Leading the cast is legendary screen icon Kevin Costner who naturally steals the show as the main character John Dutton. But of course, the show’s talented ensemble cast are a key element in making it as addictive as it is.
After three adrenaline-filled seasons, fans are more hyped than ever for the fourth instalment which will reveal the fate of John and Beth’s lives after season three ended on a major cliff-hanger which saw the ranch owner shot and his daughter involved in a major explosion.
Here, we meet the cast of Yellowstone, including a couple of new faces who you’ll notice as season four kicks off on Stan from Monday, November 8 (sign up to watch it here).
Kevin Costner plays John Dutton
Kevin Costner is a true Hollywood stalwart having been in the industry for more than four decades. His earlier work included breakout roles in 1980s films The Untouchables and No Way Out. He later went on to star in several other major 90s films including The Bodyguard and JFK.

In Yellowstone, Cole Hauser’s character is brazen and fearless—and it turns out he’s not unfamiliar to portraying the personality type on-screen. He has a portfolio in action films including 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious and 2013 Die Hard sequel, It’s A Good Day To Die Hard.
Hauser also appeared alongside Jennifer Aniston in 2006 drama-comedy The Break Up, and he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for his work in 2000’s Tigerland.
