Dior Unveils Birkenstock Collab That’ll Take You From Fashion Week To The Garden Bed

Clogs are so hot right now.

Dior is stepping into 2022 on the right foot—a grey, suede and buckled leather foot.

Unveiled at the legacy luxury label’s Fall/Winter 2022 Menswear presentation, Dior are making Birkenstocks cool again with the perfect transeasonal shoe that will take you from the über chic streets of Paris to the *checks notes* garden bed.

Teaming up with the cult German shoe brand, who literally made the dad sandal covetable, the maison delivered a reinvented design of the classic Tokio Mules and Milano Sandals.

Brace yourself, clogs will be all the rage this season.

While Birkenstock is riding off the success of past collaborations with high fashion houses Rick Owens, who somehow made mules goth, and Proenza Schouler, the perfect minimalist sandal, their partnership with Dior holds much more meaning than meets the eye.

The collection is an ode to Christian Dior’s love of nature and passion for the art of gardening. We’re not sure about you, but we’re all of sudden really interested in botany.

Featuring luxe felt and suede materials and industrial buckles, which you’ll recognise from the Dior Saddle Bag, the highly functional shoe may just be your new go-to slip on.

Just be careful around soil, these are sure to stain easily.

Just in case you were thinking that these would be the perfect accompaniment to your lazy Sunday morning brunches, Creative Director Kim Jones will make you think again.

The ‘horticulture, but make it fashion’ footwear is adorned with daintily embroidered floral motifs, perfect for living out our cottage-core fantasies.

With the collection unveiled on the 75th anniversary of the maison, we’re sure Monsieur Dior is proud of the direction Jones is taking the brand in the new decade.

As for how we’ll be styling the new collection? We’ll be taking cues from the catwalk and pairing our Dior x Birkenstocks with slouchy slacks and sweats, soft as butter trenches and boxy blazers.

J’adore.
