Congratulations to royal couple Zara and Mike Tindall, who have welcomed a baby girl.
Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the Queen’s newest grand-daughter was born at Stroud Maternity Unit, Gloucestershire, on June 18, Harper’s Bazaar UK reports.
While no name has been announced as yet, the Palace had this to say:
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Mike’s parents, Mr Philip and Mrs Linda Tindall, have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
The baby is the Queen’s seventh great-grandchild and Princess Anne, Zara’s mother’s, fourth grandchild. Zara and Mike already have one daughter, three-year-old Mia (pictured below).
Zara and her rugby player husband have spoken publicly about their fertility struggle before their second baby arrived, shared the heartbreaking news that they had suffered a miscarriage just days before Christmas in 2016. A month earlier, the pair had announced that their daughter Mia would be getting a little sister.
The tragic news was made public by a spokesperson for the couple at the time, who said: “Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy”.
Zara and Mike married in July, 2011 in a ceremony in Scotland.
