Just when you’ve had about all you can handle of Kim, Kanye and Taylor and you’re ready to swear off the internet altogether (yeah, well tonight anyway) comes a story that proves the world wide web is also capable of being pretty awesome.
Victoria and Jonathan O’Brien got together three years ago after Victoria took a shine to the tweets coming from a Waterstones bookshop account and decided to do something about it.
After a dare from a friend, the book-loving Brit sent a tweet, which read: “well I’m in love with whoever is manning the @WStonesOxfordSt account. Be still my actual beating heart.”
However it took another tweet, and a typo, to finally get Jonathan’s attention.
“It took a couple of months – Jonathan ignored my first tweet but the second had a typo and he picked up on that,” she said.
Fast-forward three years and the newlywed bride tweeted a photo of the happy couple on their big day alongside her first Tweet.
“Dear reader, I married him #noreally #yeahidunnohoweither”” she captioned the photo, a famous quote from Jane Eyre.
Victoria’s latest Tweet has since gone viral, with 9,507 retweets and counting.
If that doesn’t make you believe in love again, well modern-day love that is, we don’t know what will.
