A 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death in front of his horrified schoolmates as he was waiting for the bus outside a London school.
The teenager, Quarami Barnes, reportedly shouted “he’s going to stab me” before he was murdered outside Capital City Academy in northwest London.
The Sun reports a 20-year-old man has been charged with the murder, and is set to appear in court today over the incident. The man, Ali Tas, was also charged with common assault against another young man, who was 20-years-old, the same day.
Police released a statement just after the incident, informing the public of the details.
“A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a teenage boy in Willesden.
“Police were called just before 3.30pm on Monday by London Ambulance Service to a 15-year-old male stabbed in Doyle Gardens.
“Officers attended and the boy was suffering stab wounds. The boy was taken by paramedics to hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Next of kin are aware.
“The Homicide and Major Crime Command has been informed and are investigating.
“While officers believe they know who the deceased is, they await formal identification.”
Barnes’ fellow school students have laid written tributes and flowers at the front gate of the school to remember their friend.
“I can see you now, laughing at my art and craft skills,” one read.
“It was only yesterday you told me how proud you were that I chose Drama. You made me think I was beautiful and confident.
“You stood up for me when no one else did.”
Students and their families were seen crying and hugging each other as they paid their respects.
