Arizona-based photographer Jade Beall took a series of portraits of a couple that has been together for over 20 years – 75-year-old Gerry and 70-year-old Darwin.
The couple are naked, and incredibly happy and beautiful. A welcome change from the typical image of beauty we see put forward every day of youth, thinness, and glamour.
The couple hold each other in a warm embrace.
“I refuse to accept the wide spread (mostly Western) human belief system in regards to what is beautiful, especially when it comes to the sacred vessel we call our body.” said Beall.
Though she struggled for a while to find a willing elderly couple to participate in the photo shoot, Gerry and Darwin were excited to come forward.
On her body, Gerry said “I love my body. I use a cane, am having vision problems and my breasts reach to my waist, but you know what? I like me!”
People have showered the photos with love in the comments – and really, how could it be any other way. I mean just look at them!
