Remember back to when your mum or dad made your lunch for school? And remember the feeling of delight when amongst the normal/healthier components there was a little treat in there for you to enjoy?
Apparently, those days are gone.
Here in 2017, with some canteens around the country banned from selling sweets, there is no more room for unhealthy eating at school. But one teacher may have taken things a notch too far…

People are up in arms on the Internet after one woman posted a photo of a note that was left in her friend’s three-year-old’s lunchbox.
The note read, “Your child has chocolate slice from the Red Food category today. Please choose healthier options for Kindy.”
Media commentator Melinda Reist wrote on Facebook, “My friend (mother of 8 healthy children, what follows relating to no. 7) received this today from her 3 year old’s kindy. I told her to put in two slices tomorrow and tell them to get lost.”
It received a strong response on social media, with mothers commenting that the priorities in schools were seriously skewed if this was happening.
“If schools spent as much time worrying about what our children were learning in class, maybe we wouldn’t have so many illiterate adults,” one woman wrote.
“Your friend has 8 children. Give the poor woman a break. Number 7 is lucky to have any lunch at all!” another added.
One woman dropped a #truthbomb, saying: “What nonsense! Teacher is probably just jealous that she didn’t have choccy slice… that’s Food Police gone over the top.”
What do you think, is this the food police gone a notch too far, or a way to encourage healthy eating in schools?
