Oh, and did we mention that Lysiak is just NINE-YEARS-OLD?

This impressive tween rides around her hometown of Selinsgrove in Pennsylvania with her ear to the ground, searching for stories. Earlier this year, she was the first to report on a murder on Ninth Street after receiving a tip off from a reader. Lysiak rode her pink bike to the scene, got the scoop and posted a story, “Exclusive: murder on Ninth Street!”. As a result, she was awarded the Tribeca Disrupter Award at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Now, Lysiak is writing a series of four books fictionalising her adventures: Hilde Cracks the Case: Hero Dog!, Bear on the loose!, UFO Spotted! and Fire Fire!. The books are co-written by her new reporter dad Matthew Lysiak and have been described as ‘realistic fiction’. The first in the series is due to be published in September 2017.

Understandably, Hollywood has come knocking. Lysiak’s agents are reportedly in negotiations to sell the film rights. Watch this space…
