They argue that being tardy from time to time is- contrary to popular belief- not disrespectful, but actually a common trait in successful people. They put it down to the nature of notoriously late people multitasking and therefore losing track of time.
They also say that optimists also tend to be late more frequently, due to their relaxed nature. According to an actual scientific study, Type B personalities have a noticeably more lax perception of time.
