The internet hardly knows what to do with itself today, thanks to a story about the Trump family that doesn’t involve lying, colluding with Russia or Donald Trump writing something stupid on Twitter and starting a major international diplomatic crisis.
Instead all eyes were on the president’s youngest child, Barron Trump, 11, and the unexpectedly excellent t-shirt he wore while he and his mum Melania officially moved into the White House on Monday.
The pale blue retro-style T-shirt emblazoned with the word EXPERT – that retails for $30 at J. Crew has so enchanted fans that it’s sold out online.
It’s not a magical T-shirt though – so it hasn’t managed to entirely distract from the other weird things that went on as the final members of the First Family made their way to their new prison home.
Melania still wore her permanently-hunted expression, particularly as she woodenly but deliberately took her husband’s hand as they walk wordlessly towards the White House. Observers had previously noted the many times that she’d recoiled from her husband’s outstretched mitt like he’d been birthing a cow with it moments before, as evidence that the First Lady is more or less held hostage. It’s easy to imagine that the Commander In Chief commanded his wife to show more forced affection in his presence from now on, moments before they stepped onto the tarmac.
Some also questioned the wisdom of an 11-year-old in an EXPERT t-shirt highlighting the fact that his father isn’t. In anything. Many begged for Barron to take the reins instead.

But the real lesson here is Barron Trump is kind of amazing and looks like a genuinely nice kid. And we hope he manages to extract himself from his hot mess surname with as little damage as possible.
