The series will be based on a series of articles by Steven Brill that were published in the Huffington Post, detailing the story of how Johnson & Johnson made a powerful drug and promoted it illegally to children and the elderly. The well-loved pharmaceutical company covered up the side effects of this drug and profited from tricking people over 20 years.

Some of the people affected by the side effects included a devastating case of a little boy with autism who grew 46DD breasts. While the company knew the drug had many cases of these side effects, they did not promote this and the family sued the company and were awarded $2.5 million.

The project is the first one to come under George Clooney and Grant Heslov’s deal with Sonar Entertainment. Making a Murderer creators Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos are set to adapt and direct the series.

There is not yet information about when it will be released, and there’s no network attached as yet.
