The first trailer for Queen Of Katwe has arrived, and it is guaranteed to move you.

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and ESPN Films, Queen Of Katwe depicts the life of Phiona Mutesi, a Ugandan chess prodigy who becomes a Woman Candidate Master after her performance at World Chess Olympiads.

Based on a true story, the film follows the uplifting journey of Phiona from the slums of Katwe to the international chess circuit. Phiona’s life is changed dramatically when she meets missionary and chess instructor, Robert Katende (played by David Oyelowo), but her mother Harriet (played by Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o) fears what will happen if her dreams don’t come true.

“I’d be curious to know how many times you cry in the film!” Nyong’o told Vulture, “The trailer gives me chills — it reinforces how excited I am to be a part of this incredible cast and to help bring this story to the world.”
