It has been 10 days since the tragic accident at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast saw four people killed on the Thunder River Rapid ride after it malfunctioned.
Mother-of-two Cindy Low is the first to be laid to rest with a service to be held on the NSW Central Coast today.
The 42-year-old has been described by her family as the โdearly cherished wife and soulmate of Mathew Low and devoted mother of Kieran and Islaโ.
Ms Low lost her life alongside Canberra mother Kate Goodchild, her brother Luke Dorsett, and his partner Roozi Araghi.
Her 10-year-old son Keiran, and Ms Goodchildโs 12-year-old daughter were both miraculously thrown free from the raft and survived.
โIt has been 10 days since we lost Cindy in a catastrophic tragedy at Dreamworld,โ a statement from her family released to Fairfax read.
โWe have spent every day trying to put one foot in front of the other and it is extremely hard. It is impossible to imagine a world without Cindy, our beloved daughter, partner and mother to Kieran and Isla.โ
The family added that it would โtake us a long time to find our wayโ.
On Wednesday, Dreamworld chief executive Craig Davidson announced that the hundreds of flower bouquets left at the scene will be turned into a permanent โliving memorialโ in the park.
Around 200 staff have now returned to work at the park to tend to maintenance, gardening, animal care and other jobs. Staff continue to be paid even if they donโt wish to return.
At this stage there is still no word on when the park will reopen.
โOut of respect for the families, we will not be updating media until next week [after funerals have been held],โ said Davidson.
โOur thoughts remain firmly with the families who lost their loved ones.โ
