The Duchess of Cambridge has taken a major step in her royal career, embarking on her first-ever solo trip.
The 34-year-old paid a short visit to the Netherlands where she met with King Willem Alexander and a tour of the Mauritshuis museum in the Hague, to see the exhibition At Home in Holland: Vermeer and His Contemporaries from the British Royal Collection.
The Duchess also hosted a roundtable discussion with the Anna Freud Centre, a child mental health research, training and treatment center, and Action on Addiction, who work with people affected by drug and alcohol addiction.
Kate donned a pale blue Catherine Walker pencil skirt and jacket which she accessorised with pearl earrings which she borrowed from the Queen, as well as a pair of nude pumps.
She topped off the classic look with her hair styled in a low chignon.
While the visit was only for the day, this marks a major step forward in Kate’s role in the royal family, and as a vital asset for Britain as they navigate the UK’s relations within Europe following Brexit.
