After what feels like the longest six days of our lives, finally, The Bachelor Australia returned to our screens for episode 3 of Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins‘ quest for love.
Tonight’s episode began with Romy wearing a ‘the future is female’ top while simultaneously bringing down pretty much every woman in the house, before Nick gave Brittany a single date card and, naturally, took her to a field to kick a ball around.
Later, the Honey Badger cut the heart to heart short to “excuse them to the pool” for the first (consensual) kiss of the season.
The next day, the women all go on a group date where Cat and Vanessa Sunshine almost smashed each other over the heads with the hammers they were given as part of the game but eventually, Vanessa won and looked like she would rather die than spend time with Nick.
However, she was forced into it – after applying to be on the show and all – and Nick spent the remainder of the evening attempting to get her to do more than explain what brunch is (it’s a Melbourne thing, for anyone wondering).
“A) the connection isn’t ideal, B) she doesn’t like laughing, C) she doesn’t like smiling or D) my jokes aren’t funny. We all know that’s not it, so it must be A, B or C,” Nick confirms.
The next morning, Brooke finally uses the key to the Bach pad, surprising – but let’s be honest – not surprising Nick with breakfast in bed. The two little rugby fiends went to play ball (Brooke kept up the lie of not having any idea Nick played in the Wallabies – “he’s really good?!”), before they had a wee smooch and returned for the cocktail party hand in hand.
Towards the end of the cocktail party, Cass made her move, taking Nick away to – you guessed it – show him her diary.
Jokes aside, you could tell the Honey Badger didn’t want to hurt her feelings, especially after she said she believed in love at first sight with him, and the conversation ended with a hug. Poor Cass, say what you will about her, we’ve all bloody been there.
Later, after spending the past few weeks doing nothing but talk crap about literally everyone, Cat was very surprised that the other women in the house found her rude, but she’s “not here to hang around with a bunch of annoying bitches,” so there’s that.
Vanessa Sunshine somehow managed to score herself a rose and so did Cass, Cat and her two followers, with Kayla (AKA pool girl), Christina and Kayla sent home, but not before Kayla told Nick that Romy and Cat weren’t around for the right reasons and he practically threw her in the car.
And that’s it folks, until tomorrow.
