Former Bachelor Nick Cummins delivered the most controversial finale of reality TV to date, inspiring conjecture about why the former Wallabies player really went on show in the first place.
The Honey Badger previously said that the reason he didn’t want to choose a winner for his season’s finale, was because he knew he’d eventually have to break up with them down the track.
However, series favourite Brooke Blurton told the Shameless In Conversation podcast the former rugby star was paid far more than the $250,000 he was initially speculated to have earned.
“I think it was a bit more, I think it was half mill maybe,” she shared. In contrast, Sophie Monk reportedly made $300,000 for her turn as The Bachelorette in 2017, according to NewsCorp while Matty Johnson is believed to have pocketed $200,000 for The Bachelor that same year.
“I was actually disappointed that people are so brainwashed, you’re not going to get your fairytale ending every time,” Nick previously told ABC Radio National.
Nick continued by going into more detail as to why he left the show single, “And what’s more important, me just saying ‘yes’ and going through the motions and dragging some girl through all this media about how we’re in love and then three months down the track after the contract’s over, um, we’re allowed to break up,”
“I’m not going to drag them through that rubbish and break her heart. Bugger that.”
