But before you breath a sigh of relief at the thought of an accessory you can finally fit your lunchbox in, think again.

Nicolas Heller, also known as ‘the unofficial talent scout of New York City’, took to Instagram to share a clip of a woman battling her way through a subway turnstile with one of the biggest totes the fashion world has ever seen.

Unapologetically Opening Ceremony thanks to its brash hue and supersized logo, the bag boasts Ikea Frakta bag-like qualities thus proved a major obstacle as she tried to exit the station.

After trying (and failing) to maneuver the bag through horizontally, the Big Apple resident eventually hoisted the gigantic accessory over the gate with triumph – all while donning a supersized puffer jacket.

The very fact that she’s also carrying a second Opening Ceremony tote (of normal proportions) and a ’90s style shoulder bag in her other arm in the clip, earns her extra kudos.

Nothing like tackling all three trends in one fell swoop!

Sending a deeply philosophical question into the Instagram-verse, the caption simply reads: “Are accessories getting bigger or are we just getting smaller?” Certainly one to think about, as our accessories game is shifting to bigger and better things.

For autumn/winter 2019, Simon Porte Jacquemus zapped the brand’s iconic Le Sac Chiquito handbag under a microscopic lens – sending models down the runway with 10cm x 8cm handbags on the crooks of their fingers.

The French designer has since jumped to the other end of the spectrum, as a slouchy shoulder bag of humungous proportions took to the lavender fields of Provence for spring/summer 2020.

Finally, an accessory that won’t look out of place paired with the French label’s iconic ‘La Bomba’ straw hat…

For those of you who skipped the itsy-bitsy handbag trend of 2019, it may be worth adding the comically gigantic tote to your Christmas wish list.

The Opening Ceremony Super Large Tote can be purchased on the site for $152. 21.

Ahem, someone send Lizzo a link

We wonder if it’ll squeeze down the chimney?
