Rumours have been swirling for a while now after a couple of hints have dropped in Game of Thrones that Sansa Stark might be pregnant.
In a conversation with Littlefinger earlier in Season 6, she says “I can still feel what he did in my body standing here right now.” And even in the moment where she kills Ramsay, he says “You can’t kill me. I’m part of you now”. Fans have taken this to mean that she could be pregnant.
However Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, has something to say about these rumours. She told The Hollywood Reporter her take on these rumours.
“Months and months have gone on and Sansa really hasn’t developed a baby belly,” she said. “So I think he means he’s going to forever be imprinted on her in a way that he’s done such a terrible thing to her.
“I think he believes that he will always be a part of her, but I think he underestimates just how strong she is, and just how easily she can forget him. Now that she’s killed him, she can forget him, and she can move on with her life.”
That being said, fans haves have remarked the uncharacteristic smile she had on her face when she walked away from him getting mauled by his dogs. Perhaps this was the part of Ramsay we were seeing in her.
But Turner thinks quite the opposite – she believes this was the last goodbye for Sansa and Ramsay, that all memory of him will be erased.
“I think she’s moving on. She’s onto bigger and better things. Ramsay was just a tiny blockade in the way of something much bigger.”
