Selena Gomez is reportedly seeking help for her mental health, after suffering an emotional breakdown, while in hospital for side effects to do with Lupus.
The 26-year-old has been hospitalised twice in the past few weeks because of a low white blood cell count, which can be a side effect for kidney transplant patients, TMZ reports. Last year, Gomez, who suffers from Lupus, revealed her best friend, Francia Raisa, had donated her a kidney – something she needed as a side effect of the condition.
During her second visit to hospital, Gomez reportedly suffered a panic attack and decided to seek additional help.
“She has had a tough few weeks and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point,” a source tells PEOPLE.
“She realised she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues. She’s surrounded by close family and has a lot of support. She’s doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast.”
