Sunday evening (November 24) marked Selena Gomez’s return to the spotlight, as the songstress took to the stage at the 2019 American Music Awards – her first live performance in over two years.
Certainly cause for celebration, no?
Reminding us that she’s well and truly back in the business, the 27-year-old danced the night away with her nearest and dearest at her very own after party.
Although our invitation was sadly lost in the post, the hashtag #selenaxamas enabled fans to live vicariously through the star.
After suffering from a panic attack ahead of performing her latest hit singles, Lose You To Love Me and Look At Her Now, the singer was greeted off stage by her biggest pals.
According to multiple photographs shared on Instagram, Gomez was joined by the likes of Courtney Lopez, Sofia Carson, Raquelle Stevens, Ashley Cook, Caroline Franklin, Connar Franklin and her cousin, Priscilla Cosme.
The room hired out was decked in metallic balloons spelling out her famous moniker with a DJ on hand to blast their favourite songs throughout the evening.
A photo booth also helped the singer’s fanbase to see what went down at the after party with attendees sharing a handful of images on the social media platform.
The polaroid-style snaps appear to show Gomez in yet another outfit after changing four times previously throughout the ceremony.
Kickstaring the sartorial proceedings as she meant to go on, the singer graced the red carpet in a $1,500 lime green cold-shoulder frock by Versace before switching things up for the stage in a minimal black gown.
Cue a sparkly leotard for the second (more upbeat) set before a final lace-adorned slip dress, also by Versace, made the final cut.
As if that wasn’t enough for us to keep up with, the Disney alum’s polished bob later transformed into a shaggy ’90s ‘do.
Gomez has yet to post much from the big night on her feed but did find time to share some polaroids taken during preparations.
In one of the images, she can be seen sporting a new tattoo emblazoned across her thigh by celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang.
“AMAs day… more to come…” she teased in the caption.
The post also featured a photograph of Selena embracing her choreographer Charm La’Donna, who helped to pull together the performance.
But it wasn’t just Gomez who had reason to celebrate, as close friend Taylor Swift was named both artist of the year and artist of the decade at the ceremony – taking her total of awards to a record-breaking 29.
