Sam, who is representing his charity Love Your Sister on the show, danced a contemporary piece with his partner Georgia. The theme of the night was “memorable year” and the 41-year-old had chosen 2017, the year Connie passed away after a long battle with breast cancer.

Before the performance, Sam said he wanted to tell their “whole life story in one dance”.

Viewers expressed how moved they were on Twitter.

Prior to the emotional performance, Johnson told Ten Daily“I’m doing an amazing dance to represent our brother and sister relationship — it’ll be like our whole life story in one dance.

“My sister wanted us to raise this $10 million with joy because she always told us, ‘cancer can take my life, but it won’t take my joy’. So I’ll be dancing as if she’s watching,” he said.

Connie was first diagnosed with bone cancer at age 11. She went on to suffer from uterine cancer at age 22 and breast cancer at age 33. Johnson founded the Love Your Sister charity in 2012 with her brother Samuel, aiming to raise $10 million for cancer research. She sadly passed away in September of 2017, following her almost lifelong battle with cancer. Connie is survived by her husband Mike and two young children, Hamilton and Willoughby.
