Congratulations are in order for Sally Obermeder and husband, Marcus Obermeder, who welcomed the arrival of their second child via a surrogate on Monday.
The Daily Edition co-host shared the exciting news on Instagram today with a photo cradling new daughter, Elyssa Rose.
The couple and their 5-year-old daughter, Annabelle, left for the U.S. three weeks ago ahead of the birth.
Their decision for surrogacy came after it was deemed โfar too dangerousโ for Obermeder to become pregnant again due to her battle with breast cancer in 2011.
The 42-year-old was diagnosed with the illness at 41 weeks pregnant and given a clean bill of health after eight months of chemotherapy.
โIโve been told in no uncertain terms that itโs far too dangerous for me to be pregnant again, in terms of the cancer returning,โ she told New Idea prior to announcing their decision.
In July, the TV personality and her family shared they were expecting a second child via surrogacy on Instagram.
In the family photo, their daughter held a sign reading โIโm going to be a big sisterโ, alongside the caption: โYes itโs true. Thrilled to bits to share that @marcusobermeder and I are adding to our family thanks to the most incredible surrogate.โ
