A Russian TV presenter has been shot dead at close range by her estranged husband.
Anatoly Leontikov reportedly opened fire on Zhanna Veber, 29, in front of their 9-year old son, Dmitry. He then fled, taking the boy with him.
According to reports, Veber, a popular journalist in the Krasnodar region of southern Russia, died of her injuries in the ambulance on the way to hospital.
Leontikov turned himself in to police two days later.
The couple, who split two years ago but were not yet divorced, had reportedly been arguing about custody arrangements when Leontikov opened fire, with a friend of Veber’s saying, “The scandal began because of the child. Zhanna wanted to limit his access to the child.”
Veber’s social media accounts have since been flooded with tributes.
