Model and mum-of-two, Rachael Finch has spoken about being diagnosed with a cyst on her brain.
In an interview with Practical Parenting Finch, 30, revealed she had been suffering from crippling migraines when she decided to go for an MRI scan on her brain five years ago.
“I used to get really bad headaches and migraines every second or third day,” she said in the exclusive interview. “It was horrible and I would wake up and just after recovering for a day… boom, I would suffer from another one.”
After seeing a series of specialists and changing her diet, Finch booked in for an MRI scan, which revealed an arachnoid cyst on the lower part of her brain.
Thankfully, the cyst was not cancerous or dangerous. “I didn’t know this was a common thing and apparently people have cysts all over their body. The cyst is sitting there and we just got the results back from the revised MRI and it’s stayed exactly the same, which is great. I just have to avoid high pressure situations,” explains Finch, whose migraines have now disappeared.
Strangely, doctors don’t believe Finch’s cyst was the cause of her migraines. “The headaches went away and they don’t know where they came from. I get headaches now once a month around that time of the month but it’s been very bizarre,” says Finch.
