When youโre the Queen of England, you have bigger things to worry about than whether your new shoes will give you blisters, right?
Correct. Which is exactly why Queen Elizabeth hires someone to break in her footwear for her.
The Buckingham Palace employeeโs sole (sorry) job is to walk the palace in HRHโs shoes, ensuring to wear beige cotton socks with every pair and to always walk on carpet during the โbreaking inโ period.
Designer Stewart Palvin, who was responsible for the Queenโs wardrobe for 11 years, actually mentioned the role back in 2012, saying to The Sunday Star Times, โThe [Queenโs] shoes have to be immediately comfortableโฆ she does get someone to wear them.โ

โThe Queen can never say โIโm uncomfortable, I canโt walk any more.โ She has the right to have someone wear them in,โ Palvin finished.
However, if you were getting your hopes up about a career change, royal duties, and wandering the palace every day, weโre sorry but according to The Evening Standard, someone new has just been hired for the role. I guess, we can always hold hope that the Duchess of Cambridge follows suit.
