Priyanka Chopra Just Opened Up About Meghan Markle And Prince Harry

"I don't know if I will get into trouble for this..."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been openly dating since November of last year, with rumours of romantic gestures, birthday trips to Africa and their upcoming first official public appearance sending the world into a royal wedding watch frenzy.

Another sign an engagement is imminent? The fact that Meghan Markle has finally spoken in detail about her relationship.

The actress graces the cover of Vanity Fair this month, breaking her silence about her love life: “I can tell you that at the end of the day I think it’s really simple.”

“We’re two people who are really happy and in love.”

While the world swooned, Meghan’s friend Priyanka Chopra decided it would be time – once again – to remind the world that her actress bestie is much more than just Prince Harry’s girlfriend.

“I don’t know if I will get into trouble for this,” she told Entertainment Tonight while on the Toronto International Film Festival red carpet. “But I have an opinion.”

“I mean, she’s on the cover of Vanity Fair. It would have been nice to write about her not just her boyfriend. I’m just saying. I mean, she’s an actor, she’s an activist, she’s a philanthropist. I mean, she does so much more.”

“It’s just a little sexist,” she continued, probably referring not only to the skew of the article but the huge cover lines stating ‘She’s just wild about Harry!’

“Look, I’m a feminist and I love boys, okay… The only thing I’m saying is that there needs to be a certain sense of equality where a woman is not just a plus one, you know. It’s nice to be your own identity too.”

And she has a point: Meghan is not only an incredibly successful actress, she has been an active feminist since age 11 (yes, you read that right), she has a degree in International Relations from the prestigious Northwestern University under her belt, she regularly writes moving essays about race relations, women’s rights, and self-acceptance, and she works with charities such as the U.N. and World Vision.

Oh, and she’s Prince Harry’s girlfriend – but you knew that already, right?
