Reporter Tom Bradby accompanied the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on their trip to Africa last month, and in the hour-long documentary he spoke to Harry and Meghan about everything from living life in the spotlight to the rumoured ‘feud’ with Prince William.
Harry spoke openly about his mother, revealing that camera flashes remind him of the late Princess Diana’s death and admitting he is consequently fiercely protective of his family, saying: ‘I will always protect my family, and now I have a family to protect.
‘So everything that she [Diana] went through, and what happened to her, is incredibly important every single day, and that is not me being paranoid, that is just me not wanting a repeat of the past.’
Meghan also gave an emotional interview explaining how difficult the couple has found the constant media scrutiny, admitting that not many people ‘have asked if [she’s] okay’, and commenting on how difficult things can be ‘behind the scenes.’ She also admitted that after publicly announcing her relationship with Harry, friends warned her that the British tabloids ‘will destroy your life’.
Since the documentary aired, it was reported that Harry and Meghan will be taking a break from public life for ‘some much-needed family time’.
Many took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the eye-opening film, wishing the couple well and praising them for their openness and honesty.
Now it seems that William is concerned about his little brother as the BBC reports that he is ‘worried’ for him following the documentary.
According to a Palace source, the Duke of Cambridge hopes that Harry and Meghan ‘are all right’ following a view that the couple were ‘in a fragile place’.
Kensington Palace have not commented on the ITV documentary.
