As Meghan Markle quits her role on Suits and moves from Toronto to London, bookies have stopped taking bets on whether Prince Harry will propose – the surest sign so far that a royal engagement is imminent.
In fact, the exciting news is expected to be confirmed within the next few days, with reports the BBC has been primed for a major royal announcement this week.
Meghan and Harry first met in July of last year but the relationship wasn’t officially confirmed by the palace until November when it issued a statement asking the media to give the actress privacy.
In September, Markle broke her silence saying: “I can tell you that at the end of the day I think it’s really simple. We’re two people who are really happy and in love.”
“We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception,” she told Vanity Fair.
