With just two months to go until the royal wedding, details such as Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, the celebrity guest list, and the incredible cake have been filling up our days, but soon after the May 19th nuptials, we’ll hopefully have something else to look forward to: the couple’s first child.
According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, author of Harry: Life, Loss, and Love, Prince Harry doesn’t want to wait long to start a family with his American bride.
“My sources are saying that Prince Harry, particularly, is very keen to start a family, pretty soon after the royal wedding,” Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight. “He’s made no secret about wanting children.”
Harry’s desire to start a family of his own “really kicked in” when his brother Prince William settled down with Kate Middleton, Nicholl added. “That has definitely gotten Prince Harry pretty broody.”
“The reason he wanted Meghan to meet Prince George and Princess Charlotte was so she could see that – this would be hopefully replicated by them, that they would go on to have children,” Nicholl continued.
“That you marry into the royal family, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a regular family with cute children, and here are George and Charlotte to show that that can happen. That was really important to him.”
During their first interview after announcing their engagement, Harry and Meghan were open about their intentions to start a family.
When asked about having children, Harry said, “Of course. You know, one step at a time. Hopefully, we’ll start a family in the near future.” Meghan smiled and nodded her head in agreement.
