Everyone’s favourite mini royal family member, Prince George, is about to turn six! The third in line for the throne is reportedly celebrating his birthday – today, July 22nd – while on holiday with his parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, and two siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The royal family has reportedly left the UK for a summer holiday in their favourite tropical destination, the Caribbean island of Mustique.
According to The Sun, the Cambridges have returned to the tropical isaland, which they last visited in summer 2018 and have visited most years since 2008, including a few trips with Kate’s parents. “They are going to Mustique again,” a source told the publication, saying that the Duke and Duchess go back to the location because of its privacy and the fact that Kate used to holiday there with her family when she was young.
“It is incredibly private and incredibly discreet but not remote. They know and trust the staff who work there and they are creatures of habit,” they explained. “Kate used to go there, the Middletons used to go there. The family love it.”
After soaking up the sun, the royal family is likely to spend much of their summer at their country home, Anmer Hall. The 10-bedroom Norfolk country home is on Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate, which was Kate and Will’s home prior to moving to Kensington Palace.
But that’s not all: As a rule, every member of the royal family must visit the Queen at her Balmoral Castle estate in Scotland once a summer, which the family-of-five will likely do prior to Prince George and Princess Charlotte heading back to school in early September.
