You would have thought that President Trump, who has already swapped the White House’s red curtains for glitzy gold and whose private jet boasts gold-plated seatbelt buckles, would have jumped at the chance for extra bling.
But he doesn’t wear a wedding ring. And the internet wants to know why.

According to marie claire US, Trump has never worn a ring during his 12-year marriage to Melania, nor did he deign to wear one for his first marriage to Ivana Zelnickova.
He was, however, occasionally spotted with a wedding band when married to second wife Marla Maples.
Trump isn’t the only world leader walking around without a wedding ring – Prince William made headlines when it was discovered he doesn’t have one either, simply because “he’s not one for jewellery.”
It’s worth noting that historically, men didn’t start wearing wedding rings until World War II, when they served as a reminder of soldiers’ wives back home.
“The mid-20th century is when it becomes mainstream,” Victoria & Albert Museum curator Rachel Church has told the BBC. “Nowadays when you hear men don’t want to wear them you think that it’s a bit odd.”
Quite.
