Police are on the hunt for a Sydney man who has allegedly committed at least 27 sexual assaults over the course of 15 years in various locations around Sydney.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the assaults took place from 1985 and 2001, and police believe that his last attack was at Waverley Cemetery on October 30, 2001.
Though police have suspected that all these assaults were related since 2005, they have only just released an identikit to the public and urged the public to come forward with any information or evidence that could help identify the attacker.
โJust because the attacks stopped doesnโt mean we have stopped hunting him,โโ says Sex Crimes Squad Detective Sergeant Eugene Stek. โTo us these are still open cases which we want to solve.
โWeโre asking the public to look at the identikit, the dates of the ยญattacks and perhaps they might be able to remember something which may help identify him.โโ
Police report that in his earlier attacks, he always carried a knife, but later he would tell his victim he had one but not show it.
โWe believe he is now aged from 45-64 with dark curly or wavy hair, brown eyes and a broad nose,โ Sen Cons Cridland said.
โWe estimate his height is from 160cm to 180cm, but we tend to think he is probably likely to be less than 170cm. He has a thin to ยญmedium build and was sometimes described as fit and muscular.โโ
If you know anything related to these incidents, police are urging you to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
