Texas plus-sized model Natalie Hage has recalled a nightmare flight when she was brutally body shamed by a fellow passenger.

The 30-year-old influencer had paid $91 for extra legroom for her flight to Los Angeles, but was then placed in a middle seat The Sun reports.

“As soon as I sat down, the gentleman on my left began LOUDLY huffing, sighing, and readjusting himself in his seat,” Natalie posted to Instagram, accompanied by photos of the man’s phone.

“I see him furiously texting and then purposefully turning the phone away from me. So, naturally next time he texts, I take a look.

“The texts were about me and I’m almost positive he took photos of me.”

Natalie said she discovered the texts were “really mean and ugly” and ridiculed her for her weight.

“If you can’t read the texts, it says ‘hopefully she didn’t have any Mexican food’ and his response is ‘I think she ate a Mexican’,” her post continued. “Then he proceeds to say he’s leaving a ‘neck mark on the window’ because he’s so smashed against the wall.”

The model explained that she was devastated by the man’s texts that not only made fun of her appearance but violated her privacy.

As 7 News reports, Natalie uploaded a video of her confronting the man on board the flight.

The stranger initially denied sending the texts (ugh) before making even more digs at her weight—this time, to her face. He only apologised after she mentioned the photographs of his texts. In the video, Natalie makes the incredibly important point: “My body is none of your business so you have no idea what I can and can’t do with it.”

“Don’t ever treat somebody like that again,” she added.

The video has been viewed more than 1.5 million times, with commenters praising her for bringing the issue to light—and taking a stand for all women.
