Perth Mum’s Outrageous Ad For A ‘Personal Slave’ Goes Viral

The wage? $4 per hour

A Perth mum is being accused of slave labour after putting up an ad asking for someone to help her move house.

The mum claimed she was in the process of moving house and needed someone to help her move every day.

Though she didn’t specify the length of employment, she did says that the person would be paid $500 for every 20 days of help… that’s just $4 per hour when the current minimum wage in Australia is $18.43.

In the job post, shared by The Daily Mail, the woman asks for the employee to transfer belongings from her current home to her new home, plus vacuum, dishes, folding laundry – “but nothing that you wouldn’t do in your own family/house.”

The person “must be hardworking, clean and have attention to details, get the work done in a timely manner, punctual, good positive attitude, honest.”

“So this woman is offering somebody $4 per hour to be her personal slave,” a person wrote on Facebook.

“I was making more in 1983 as a 12-year-old,” another commented.

Others questioned why the move would take 20 days (at least) and suggested the woman might be sneakily trying to hire a cheap cleaner for the new and old house.
