Remember when Lorna Jane finally introduced plus-sized models in their campaigns? Well activewear giant Nike have taken things one step further and launched a new plus-sized activewear range for women!
And can we just say, it’s about time.
Many activewear brands still aren’t stocking products over women’s size 18, but Nike made the decision for an important reason. They released their thought process in a statement.
“Nike recognises that women are stronger, bolder and more outspoken than ever. In today’s world, sport is no longer something that she does, it’s who she is. The days where we have to add ‘female’ before ‘athlete’ are over. She is an athlete, period. And having helped fuel this cultural shift, we celebrate these athletes’ diversity, from ethnicity to body shape.”

Nike also released a video demonstrating this thinking by critiquing the reporting on Serena Williams.
They have teamed up with some influencers like Grace Victory and Danielle Vanier to front the campaign, and they look fierce.
