In a statement the parents of three-year-old Isiah, Michelle Gregg and Deonne Dickerson, said “Our child has had a check-up by his doctor and is still doing well. We continue to praise God for His grace and mercy, and to be thankful to the Cincinnati Zoo for their actions taken to protect our child.”

They thanked zoo staff for protecting their son, and said “If anyone wishes to make a gift, we recommend a donation to the Cincinnati Zoo in the name of the gorilla, Harambe.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati Police say they will launch an investigation into the actions of Isiah’s parents. “We are closely reviewing the facts of the case,” the police department said in a Tweet.
