In further proof that we can’t-stop-won’t-stop referencing the bygone era, the humble flip-up has undergone a 2020 makeover.

Described as a “flip phone fused with the intelligence of a modern smartphone”, the new Motorola Razr features a full-length touch screen.

If that isn’t enough to prove it’s moved on since the early days, it comes complete with built-in artificial intelligence designed to help us take the perfect selfie – Paris Hilton sure would approve.

But before you trade in your iPhone, it’s worth mentioning that the $1,499 (USD) phone only comes in black.

Yes, the hot pink edition we all fought over in at school is well and truly a thing of the past – vintage, some may say.

The new Motorola Razr will go on pre-sale in the US this December with plans to roll out the must-have in January 2020.

Although a date has yet to be confirmed, the phone will grace Australian shelves next year too with prices still in negotiation.

One thing’s for certain, we sure hope there’s room for a whole bunch of new jingly-jangly (totally unnecessary) phone charms.
