Exactly one month after 17 students were killed in a shooting rampage at a Florida high school, students across America have staged a powerful protest against gun violence.
From Seattle to California, thousands of students walked out of their classrooms in a united front calling stricter gun laws and immediate action from the government. The 17-minute walkout represented one minute for every life taken at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, CNN reports.
Many students marched through the streets, descended on local government buildings and carried protest signs that summed up their anger, their hopes and their fears. In the words of one young signwriter: “One child is worth all the guns in the world”.
Here are some of many of the moving messages from the day.
