Natalie Portman has confirmed she will not be attending today’s Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
The heavily pregnant star made a statement to Variety, revealing that despite scoring her third nomination, she’ll be sitting the 2017 Oscars out.
“Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards,” Portman wrote.
“I feel so lucky to be honoured among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.”
Nominated for her portrayal of Jackie Kennedy, the 35-year-old is expecting her second child with husband Benjamin Millepied.
Their son Aleph Portman-Millepied is five-years-old.
