The heart wants what the heart wants, but we can’t help but notice a pattern in the loved-up celebrity universe of late. Artistic boyfriends are so ‘in’ right now. Forget hanging out in bars girls, 2020 is all about meeting Mr Right in an art gallery.
In the past, Hollywood’s leading ladies have always been drawn to musicians, actors and sports stars. But now, there’s a shift. An artistic man is the boyfriend trend of 2020.
What makes them such a catch? For starters, they use both sides of their brains. They’re creative and sensitive yet still worldly and intellectual. They also know how to dress to impress.
Another big positive is they’re social creatures. They’re not your typical misunderstood and eccentric artists; the 2020 artistic boyfriend gets along with everyone and no one ever has a bad word to say about him.
Looking for proof? There are newlyweds Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney (a director at a New York art gallery), just-married Ellie Goulding and her husband and art dealer Caspar Jopling, recently-engaged Jenny Slate and gallery curator Ben Shattuck, and Amber Heard and boyfriend Vito Schnabel – who is an art dealer and gallery owner. Just to name a few.
While it may have taken the rest of us a while to figure out that this rare breed of eligible men exists, Meryl Streep has known for a long time. She fell for her sculptor husband back in 1978 and the pair are still happily married.
