Appearing outside Los Angeles Superior Court with her lawyer on Monday, actress Mischa Barton was beaming, with her hand raised triumphantly in the air. The good news? The actress’s ongoing “revenge porn” lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend has finally come to an end.
Barton’s former partner, Jon Zacharias, allegedly tried to sell sex tapes of her in an act, People reports.
The OC star’s lawyer Lisa Bloom, announced that the court had ruled in their favour and banned the distribution of the explicit images.
“COURT VICTORY today with Mischa Barton. Distribution of the explicit images banned, ex stays 100 yards away forever,” Ms Bloom tweeted.
In the court papers, it was alleged Zacharias had been trying to sell the tapes for $US500,000, Variety reports.

In a statement to People, Bloom continued: “Mischa did not consent to the release of any such photos or videos. We went into court and obtained court orders barring anyone from trafficking in images like this of Mischa.
“Today we have won an important agreement, which permanently blocks the dissemination of these images.”
The lawyer said the victory was an important ruling on revenge porn that will resonate with women across the world.
“I am proud to declare victory for Mischa. She did this not just for herself, but for all women and girls,” she said in the statement.
“Mischa wants everyone to know that we have the right to control our own bodies and decide whether or not to have explicit photos out there for the world to see. If a woman wants to do that, fine. If she doesn’t, fine. The choice is hers and hers alone.”
