Despite shutting down her lifestyle website The Tig ahead of officially joining the British royal family, Meghan Markle hasnโt let her love of writing fall by the wayside. From releasing a cookbook to guest-editing the September issue of British Vogue, the Duchess of Sussex has made sure she incorporates her pre-royal passions into her new role. While sheโs still officially on maternity leave, that hasnโt stopped Meghan from continuing her work with charities. Just last week it was announced she is creating a fashion line with proceeds going to one of her patronages, the womenโs charity Smart Works, and now it appears the 38-year-old is writing a childrenโs book.
According to the Sunday Times, Meghan may be writing a book inspired by the two dogs she shares with Prince Harry โ a beagle named Guy, who moved from Toronto to the U.K. with her and the coupleโs new dog, whose name (annoyinly) hasnโt been shared with the public. Meghan also has a third dog called Bogart, a Labrador-German Shepherd mix, who couldnโt travel with her to London due to his health and stayed behind with friends in Canada.

Meghanโs book idea likely sparked from her role as patron of Mayhew, a U.K. animal shelter. โAs a proud rescue dog owner, I know from personal experience the joy that adopting an animal into your home can bring,โ she wrote in an essay for Mayhew earlier this year. โThe choice to adopt a pet is a big decision that comes with much responsibility but infinite return on investment. It will undoubtedly change your life.โ
