Meghan Markle Will Break Another Royal Tradition On Her Wedding Day

The royal rule-breaker strikes again

Meghan Markle has cemented her place as the royal rule-breaker in the months following her engagement to Prince Harry. From rocking a messy low bun, to attending Christmas with the Queen before she was ‘officially’ a part of the family, the former actress is adjusting to the rules of the monarchy in her own way.

Apparently, this rule-breaking is set to continue on May 19th when she and Harry tie the knot in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in front of 800 guests.

Meghan has already broken one classic rule, by enlisting a maid of honour for her big day, whereas tradition states a royal bride would typically only have bridesmaids. Now, she’s set to break another with the Times reporting the Suits star will give an “affectionate” speech at her wedding reception.

“She wants to have the chance to thank her husband and everyone who has supported them,” a source told the Times. “Harry thinks it’s a great idea.”

Meghan’s speech will reportedly feature an affectionate tribute to her new husband, special thanks to Queen Elizabeth II and a few “suitable” jokes.

Ahh, to have a seat at that reception!
