Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s fairytale wedding on May 19th, royal watchers have been anticipating a very exciting baby announcement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The newlyweds, themselves, are reportedly keen to start a family of their own, making no secret of their desire to have kids of their own.
Last year, Harry revealed he was looking forward to fatherhood. “I would love to have kids,” he told The Telegraph. While Markle has shared that starting a family is on her bucket list. Then, there’s the series of loose-fitting dresses Meghan stepped out wearing over the past few weeks. (Remember that suspiciously baggy Oscar De La Renta wrap dress which caused a stir?)
The couple even addressed the possibility of having kids in their post-engagement interview, where Harry was asked if they had plans to start a family. “Not currently, no,” Harry replied, garnering a laugh from Markle. “Of course, one step at a time and hopefully we’ll start a family in the near future,” he added.
However, it looks like we will have to wait a little while longer, with the former Suits star shutting down pregnancy rumours by breaking one of the cardinal rule of expecting a baby: no alcohol.
Currently, on an official royal engagement in Ireland, Meghan attended a summer soiree at the British Ambassador’s residence at Glencairn House in Dublin, where she sipped on a glass of champagne.
Looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer to welcome a new royal baby into the fold.
