The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle’s life has changed dramatically in the last eighteen months since the royal wedding. In addition to moving to a new continent without her circle of friends close by, the first-time mum is also grappling with the constant media attention of joining the world’s most famous family.
Albeit, she’s navigating this new world with a slew of perks. Yet, it’s impossible not to feel even a little sorry for the Californian-born former Suits star. Meghan hinted that she is struggling with being under the spotlight when she attended the premiere of The Lion King in London’s Leicester Square. Her conversation with Pharrell Williams, who was involved in the movie’s soundtrack, has since surfaced online.
In the clip, which was shared on Twitter account Royal Suitor, Pharrell can be heard praising Meghan and Harry’s “wonderful union”. He said: “So happy for your union. Love is amazing. It’s wonderful. Don’t ever take that for granted but what it means in today’s climate, I just wanted to tell you it’s so significant for so many of us. Seriously. We cheer you guys on.”
Meghan can be heard responding: “Thank you, they don’t make it easy.”
