Counter-terrorism officers are investigating a letter containing white powder that was sent to Meghan Markle, sparking an anthrax scare.
According to the BBC, St James Palace received a letter addressed to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on February 12 that contained a white substance.
Police are treating the letter as a “racist hate crime” and it is believed the package also contained a racist note.
A Met Police spokesman said an investigation from counter terrorism officers is currently underway.
“Officers are also investigating an allegation of malicious communications which relates to the same package, and it is being treated as a racist hate crime,” the spokesman said.
“The matter is being investigated by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.”
According to The Guardian, the powder was tested by experts and found to be harmless.
Last week, a package containing “non-harmful” white powder was also delivered to the Palace of Westminister.
