Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are two of the most famous women in the world with stories written about them every single day without fail (something Meghan recently addressed while speaking to Pharrell). Of course, over the past year, numerous reports surfaced of a feud between the two royal couples, a lot of which centred around the Duchess’ friendship – or lack thereof. However, after Meghan and Kate attended Wimbledon together last week, those close to the women are saying their relationship is growing stronger and stronger.
A source told People that Kate and Meghan’s relationship is “strengthening” due to a shared bond over motherhood. “They’re each a little more relaxed. They have more in common now,” they said.
Another source said that the two women “were genuine and sweet together” at Wimbledon and that after Markle’s friend Serena Williams lost in the finals, “Kate put her hand out and rubbed Meghan’s back to console her.”
“It illustrated a warm relationship between these women who have young babies and are in similar situations in their lives,” royal commentator Victoria Arbiter told People of their tennis outing with Kate’s sister, Pippa.
“Babies are a great leveler,” Arbiter added. “The minute you’re bonding over your stories and sleepless nights, suddenly all the stuff that mattered before doesn’t matter anymore.”
