Joining the royal family would be daunting in many, many ways: the whole world watching your every move, having to give up your career, going through hostage training, and being lumped with the difficult task figuring out what to buy the Queen for Christmas.
Thankfully, because they already have everything, the royal family avoid purchasing each other expensive gifts and choose instead to exchange funny presents (or homemade, in Kate Middleton’s case).
Proving she’s a perfect fit, Markle’s gift – a singing toy hamster – reportedly had Queen Elizabeth in stitches.
“Meghan bought a little hamster that sings with a little rope for Her Majesty, The Daily Star reports.
“It was so funny, especially when the corgis tried to take hold of the toy,” they continued, saying that her majesty said, “it can keep my dogs company.”
And for her soon to be brother-in-law? Meghan reportedly gifted Prince William a Tam O Shanter hat with attached fake red hair, to poke fun at his thinning bald spot.
