This week, the statement in question that was made focused on Meghan’s biracial upbringing, as an old blog post from her now-defunct blog, The Tig, resurfaced. In the post, which was taken down when she became a royal, Meghan opened up about the struggles she faced in her teens and twenties.

“My teens were even worse [than my twenties] – grappling with how to fit in, and what that even meant,” the post reportedly reads, via The Express. “My high school had cliques: the black girls and white girls, the Filipino and the Latina girls. Being biracial, I fell somewhere in between.”

She continued: “So everyday during lunch, I busied myself with meetings – French club, student body, whatever one could possibly do between noon and 1pm – I was there. Not so that I was more involved, but so that I wouldn’t have to eat alone.”

The Duchess has been open speaking on the subject of her upbringing, with her words sure to inspire the young men and women also struggling with their identities.
