They're going bananas

It comes as no surprise that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are all about breaking tradition, and the royal couple isnโ€™t stopping just yet.

Itโ€™s customary for British royal weddings to serve fruitcake on the top-tier of their wedding cake. This is so it can be preserved (and then re-served) for the coupleโ€™s first childโ€™s christening.

Veering away from royal expectations, the pair has chosen their wedding cake to be made of bananas! Yes, you read correctly: their cake will be banana-flavoured. A source told The Daily Telegraph that the Prince has a special love for bananas, and so it will be that โ€œthis will be the first royal wedding cake made from bananasโ€.

But Harryโ€™s obsession with the fruit isnโ€™t the only reason why theyโ€™ve chosen this tradition-breaking flavour.

Upon confirmation of the coupleโ€™s relationship in 2016, Meghan used a super cute banana pic to represent her budding romance with the Prince, captioning the post: โ€œSleep tight xxโ€.
